The Canadian Marine Careers Foundation Welcomes Three New Members to Its Board of Directors

Following its 7th Annual General Meeting on June 18, 2026, the Canadian Marine Careers Foundation (CMCF) is pleased to welcome David Musseau, Director General of the Operational Personnel Branch at the Canadian Coast Guard; Nathalie Rousseau, CHRP, M. Sc., Vice President, People and Culture at QSL International; and Manou Bernard, Executive Director of the Comité sectoriel de main-d’œuvre de l'industrie maritime (CSMOIM), to its Board of Directors.

These new appointments reflect the Foundation’s commitment to broad sector and geographical representation and collaboration as it continues to promote marine career opportunities and foster a skilled workforce for Canada’s marine industry.

“The next three years will be an important chapter for the Foundation as we accelerate our efforts to address pressing marine labour and skills shortages in order to meet Canada’s economic growth ambitions,” said Julia Fields, Executive Director of the Canadian Marine Careers Foundation. “These appointments bring extensive experience from one of our key public sector partners, from one of North America’s leading terminal operators, and from Quebec’s Human Resources Sectoral Committee for the maritime industry. David, Nathalie, and Manou bring the insight, strategic leadership, and industry connections that will help us turn new ideas into action and ensure our work remains relevant, responsive, and impactful for the people and communities we serve.”

The CMCF Board of Directors will continue to be led by Chair Stéphanie Aubourg, CHRP, Chief Human Resources Officer at CSL Group Inc.

The 2026 Board of Directors includes returning members Dr. Dave Shorey, Executive Director, Government Relations & Community Engagement at Georgian College; Danielle Lewis, Chief Human Resources Officer at the Pacific Pilotage Authority; Cathy Smith, Vice President, Human Resources at Algoma Central Corporation; Dr. Paul Brett, Interim Deputy Provost (Marine Institute) and Executive Director, Professional and Continuing Education; Bernard Talbot, National Secretary Treasurer at the Canadian Merchant Service Guild; and Patti Merrigan, Vice President, Human Resources at Marine Atlantic.
