March 23, 2026
The Port of Prince Rupert has joined the Canadian Marine Careers Foundation’s expanding partner network, thus supporting national efforts to address critical marine workforce challenges and prepare for the future needs of the industry.

"We're quickly growing at the Port of Prince Rupert and know the demand for talented mariners in our region will keep climbing in the coming years. That's why it's important for us to partner with organizations like Imagine Marine to attract hard working people who want to build meaningful careers making a difference on Canada's North Coast." — Dave Vanderstelt, Harbour Master, Prince Rupert Port Authority.

"Having the Prince Rupert Port Authority (PRPA) join our network strengthens our ability to continue building a diverse and future‑ready marine workforce in Canada," said Julia Fields, Executive Director of the Canadian Marine Careers Foundation. "Prince Rupert is not only growing cargo volumes and expanding its infrastructure, but it is also demonstrating what it means to invest in local and Indigenous talent through skills training, scholarships, and community partnerships. Their leadership on inclusive workforce development aligns directly with our mission to ensure that as Canada’s ports grow, so do the opportunities for people to access, train for, and thrive in marine careers across the country."
