About Federal Fleet Services Inc.:
Federal Fleet Services Inc. support military, government and humanitarian operations through the construction, ownership, servicing and management of complex, mission-critical ships.

They have a corporate office headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and most notably own, operate and maintain the Combat Support Ship MV Asterix in the direct operational support of His Majesty’s Royal Canadian Navy.

Federal Fleet employs, directly or indirectly, 72 Canadian Merchant Mariners, integrated with the operation of the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN), for naval missions around the globe. For the past 7 years, they have supported the RCN and our NATO allies by providing fuel, cargo, help operations and humanitarian aid. During this time, they’ve traveled the equivalent of five times around the world, supported over 55 naval missions, transferred more than 100,000 tonnes of fuel, and collaborated with over 20 different navies. In the proud tradition of the Merchant Mariners who supported the many WWII convoys through the North Atlantic, Federal Fleet Services are honoured to contribute to the defence of our country and to our allies.

Today, we are pleased to join the CMCF/Imagine Marine and will be working closely with them and other member organizations to promote the Asterix as a potential Canadian Merchant Marine training vessel, in a secondary role or as a transition role moving forward. We all need to work together to promote our Canadian Industry and close the gap on the Merchant Marine shortage that will hamper our collective ability to deliver essential maritime services needed for our everyday transportation and economic trade and prosperity.
