May 7, 2026
The Chamber of Shipping has joined the Canadian Marine Careers Foundation’s national network of partners, bringing additional industry perspective to the organization’s work across the marine sector. The partnership reflects a broader effort to connect industry partners around shared workforce and labour market priorities.

"We support CMCF’s efforts and are committed to contributing to a competitive and resilient marine workforce. Supporting and advancing the domestic workforce is critical to ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vessels." — Bonnie Gee, President, Chamber of Shipping.

"We are pleased to welcome the Chamber of Shipping to the Canadian Marine Careers Foundation. Their involvement strengthens our collective efforts to ensure the marine sector in Canada can continue to grow, adapt, and retain skilled talent as it supports the country’s economic growth and trade resilence," said Julia Fields, Executive Director of the Canadian Marine Careers Foundation.
About the Chamber of Shipping:
Established in 1923, the Chamber of Shipping has long served as the unified voice for the international marine transportation industry, moving cargo and passengers to and from the west coast of Canada.

Their membership primarily consists of ocean carriers, essential contributors to global supply chains, that transport goods and materials across the world’s oceans in a cost-effective, energy-efficient manner.

On behalf of their members, they advocate for a strong and competitive shipping sector that prioritizes environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and operational excellence. Both within Canada and globally, their members are dedicated to tackling climate change, preventing and managing pollution, and safeguarding marine ecosystems, all while continuing to enable and facilitate trade.
