May 28, 2026
The Canadian Marine Careers Foundation welcomes BC Ferries to its network as a longstanding contributor to Canada’s marine transportation sector. For years, BC Ferries has served coastal communities across British Columbia through an extensive ferry network, supporting a wide range of marine and shore-based careers that help keep Canada’s economy moving. Their experience within the sector and continued focus on employee safety, training and development make them a valuable addition to the Foundation’s national network of partners.

"BC Ferries is pleased to join Imagine Marine as a way to connect with marine employers, workers, students, governments, unions, educators, and industry partners from across this critical sector in Canada. Through collaboration, we can help shape unified approaches that reduce barriers, expand funding opportunities, and support the long-term sustainability of the marine workforce. This engagement also enables meaningful opportunity to collaborate with peers, share insights, and contribute to the ongoing development of best practices." said Sam Bath, Director, People Recruitment and Total Rewards.

"BC Ferries has played an important role within British Columbia’s marine sector for many years," said Julia Fields, Executive Director of the Canadian Marine Careers Foundation. "Working together will help us reach more young people and job seekers with greater awareness of career opportunities in the marine sector. Partnerships like this support CMCF’s efforts to improve attraction, retention and training of marine talent and help strengthen the industry’s future nationwide."
