CMIF welcomes Alexandra Johnson as Director of Communications
Alexandra Johnson is jumping on board the CMIF team as Director of Communications. With over 7 years of international experience from Singapore to Frankfurt, Alexandra is a communications jack-of-all-trades with a knack at pairing the right content with the right audience.

Alexandra brings experience from the non-profit sector, the European Central Bank, and most recently, Havas Media, a global communications agency. She holds a BA from Concordia University in Montréal (QC) and an MSc from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Alexandra is trilingual, having added German to her fluency in French and in English.

In her role as Director of Communications, Alexandra will lead the development and management of the Imagine Marine public outreach program, building a leading-edge digital campaign to promote greater awareness of the marine industry and its career opportunities.

No matter which hat she's wearing, Alexandra ensures it looks good, is placed on the right platform, and is ready to create waves. Speaking of which, she loves being out on the water, diving into a new book, and most of all, having conversations over good food with great people.

About the Canadian Marine Industry Foundation (CMIF)
The CMIF is a marine industry partnership with the federal government established to serve as a national forum to bring together industry stakeholders from across Canada to synergize efforts to attract talent to the marine industry. One of the CMIF's first initiatives in 2020 will be to launch a digital campaign to raise awareness of the industry so it can continue to attract the skilled labour, trades and accredited professionals needed to steer the industry forward. The campaign will ask Canadians to Imagine Marine and start a conversation to spark the imagination of youth to consider careers in an industry with a tradition and future like no other. A new web-based career resource is currently being developed that will inform, direct and support workforce candidates with academic, financial aid and career information.
